The Job:

As B2B Director, you will own and accelerate the commercial growth of MEGA’s B2B energy activities in the Netherlands. You will define strategy, lead a high-performing sales organization, and position MEGA as a trusted long-term partner for business customers.

You will operate with entrepreneurial freedom, backed by the strength of the MET Group, in a market that is evolving fast—commercially, digitally, and regulatorily.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Commercial Development :

    • Define and execute the commercial strategy for MEGA’s B2B energy business in the Netherlands.

    • Drive sustainable growth in revenue, margin, and market share across all B2B segments.

    • Lead, coach, and scale a sales organization, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and ownership.

    • Identify and launch new B2B propositions and commercial models aligned with customer needs and market evolution.

  • Client Engagement & Market Intelligence :

    • Build and maintain relationships with high-value clients, sales partners, and key stakeholders through regular visits and engagements, positioning the company as a trusted partner.

    • Gather and analyze market intelligence to inform business decisions, staying ahead of competitive trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments.

    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing and resolving issues in collaboration with internal departments, including Customer Care and Credit & Collection.

  • Sales Strategy & Pipeline Management :

    • Oversee the development and management of a robust sales pipeline, ensuring a balanced mix of inbound and outbound prospecting and engagement.

    • Monitor and analyze sales results and KPIs to ensure targets are met, implementing corrective actions when necessary to sustain growth and profitability.

    • Lead efforts to grow the external B2B sales networks, including contracting, onboarding, and controlling partners to achieve high-quality lead generation and sales execution.

    • Act as the primary liaison between top management and the B2B sales teams, ensuring transparency in communication, alignment on objectives, and reporting on key sales metrics.

  • Digital Transformation & Process Improvement :

    • Lead the continuous improvement of digital tools and sales processes, particularly related to quotes, contracts, commission calculations, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

    • Champion the adoption of new technologies and data-driven methodologies to enhance sales efficiency, customer insights, and decision-making.

  • Profitability & Cost Optimization :

    • Drive improvement in key profitability KPIs, including churn rates, bad debt management, and operational expenses (OPEX), ensuring sustainable and healthy margins across all sales channels.

    • Collaborate closely with the Credit & Collection team to ensure efficient risk management and secure client payments.

    • Work with finance and executive teams to set and monitor budgets, forecast performance, and optimize costs without compromising.

Job requirements

Is this job made for you?

  • Education : Master’s degree in business, economics, or a related field.

  • Experience : Proven experience (minimum 10 years) as a sales manager/director in the energy sector.

  • Language : Fluency in Dutch and strong English skills.

  • Strong leadership, sales and customer relationship management skills. You love selling and have excellent commercial and negotiation skills.

  • Data-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable with accountability.
